The M32-74-BLDC series is a 32mm diameter brushless DC motor with an extended 74mm body length. This high-performance motor platform is designed for applications requiring greater torque output than the standard 60mm version while maintaining the same 32mm diameter for compatibility with existing mounting configurations. The extended body length accommodates a longer stator with additional copper windings and stronger rare-earth magnets, delivering approximately 40-50% higher torque output compared to its 60mm counterpart.
The M32-74 delivers rated torque from 0.25 to 0.50 Nm with peak torque up to 1.4 Nm, depending on winding selection. No-load speeds range from 1,500 to 9,000 RPM, allowing designers to optimize for either high-speed or high-torque applications. This extended body platform delivers approximately 40-50% higher torque output compared to the 60mm version while maintaining the same 32mm frame diameter. The brushless design provides high efficiency (up to 87%), reducing heat generation and improving energy economy compared to brushed alternatives.
Unlike traditional metal brush DC motors that require periodic brush replacement and suffer from electrical arcing, the brushless design eliminates mechanical commutation entirely. Typical operational life reaches 20,000+ hours—four times longer than equivalent brushed motors. The absence of brushes also eliminates electrical arcing, reducing EMI and making the motor suitable for sensitive medical and electronic environments. Low cogging torque design ensures smooth rotation even at very low speeds, critical for precision positioning applications.
Three integrated hall effect sensors provide commutation feedback for electronic speed controllers (ESC) and enable precise speed control, direction changes, and smooth starting from zero speed. The hall sensors allow the motor to start reliably under load and maintain stable operation across a wide speed range. For closed-loop speed or position control, an optional magnetic or optical encoder (up to 2,048 PPR) can be added to the motor rear shaft.
The extended 74mm body length provides enhanced surface area for passive heat dissipation, enabling higher continuous current handling compared to shorter frame motors. Ball bearings (double shielded) on both ends ensure low friction and long service life even under continuous duty. Dynamic balancing of the rotor assembly minimizes vibration, critical for precision applications. The housing can be specified with IP54 protection (dust-protected and water-resistant) or IP65 (wash-down capable) for demanding environments. Insulation is Class F (155°C) as standard, with Class H (180°C) available for high-temperature applications.
OEM customers can specify winding voltage and speed/torque characteristics, shaft diameter (6mm, 8mm, or 10mm), shaft length, and end configurations including flat, keyway, D-cut, or spline. Gearbox attachments (planetary or spur) with reduction ratios from 3:1 to 100:1 are available for torque multiplication. Custom lead wire length and connector terminations (Molex, JST, AMP, Deutsch, or custom) are supported. Encoder integration, electromagnetic brake options, and IP65 sealing are available for volume orders.
Each M32-74-BLDC motor undergoes 100% final inspection including no-load speed, no-load current, hall sensor functionality, insulation resistance, dielectric strength, vibration testing, and shaft runout measurement. Production follows ISO 9001:2015 quality management processes. RoHS and REACH compliance documentation is available. Sample motors with matched electronic speed controllers are available for engineering evaluation.
