At the recent Automate 2026 exhibition, a new generation of high-performance coreless DC motor series was officially unveiled, designed specifically for high-precision motion control requirements in robotics and medical automation. The two core products launched target high-end applications including compact automated instruments and surgical robot end effectors, marking an acceleration in product iteration for coreless motors in specialized high-end markets.
According to publicly disclosed technical specifications, the 16mm coreless motor features a rated voltage of 12V, rated torque of 1.4 mN·M, and rated speed of up to 45,360 rpm, suitable for prosthetic fingers and small automated instruments. The 22mm model offers a rated voltage of 24V, rated torque of 11 mN·M, and rated speed of 37,000 rpm, targeting surgical robot end effectors and high-speed medical pumps where power density requirements are stringent. Both products employ ironless coil designs, fundamentally eliminating magnetic cogging effects to achieve ultra-smooth rotation at low speeds and high energy conversion efficiency.
The core technical breakthrough lies in the instant start-stop capability enabled by low moment of inertia, which is critical for precise control of dexterous hand grasping motions and dose accuracy in precision infusion pumps. Meanwhile, improved heat dissipation structures and eddy current loss suppression designs keep motor temperature rise low even under high-speed operating conditions, extending service life in continuous-duty scenarios. Samples have completed internal validation and are gradually being introduced to the market.
From an industry landscape perspective, the global high-end coreless motor market has long been dominated by overseas suppliers from Switzerland and Germany, which have accumulated deep advantages in core metrics such as dynamic response consistency and lifespan reliability. Chinese manufacturers are entering specialized segments—surgical robots, precision medical pumps, and dexterous hands—with differentiated product strategies, attempting to benchmark against overseas flagship products in specific applications. Whether they can establish a firm foothold in the high-end market through batch validation by downstream customers remains the key question this round of product upgrades must answer.
