25mm Brushless DC Motor – 25mm Length, Ultra-Compact, High Torque Density
The M25-25-BLDC series is a 25mm diameter brushless DC motor with an ultra-compact 25mm body length, making it one of the shortest motors in its class. This miniature motor platform is specifically designed for applications where axial space is extremely limited but brushless performance is required. The combination of 25mm diameter and 25mm length delivers remarkable power density for its size, making it an excellent choice for drones, medical devices, compact automation, and portable equipment.
The M25-25 delivers rated torque from 0.05 to 0.12 Nm with peak torque up to 0.25 Nm, depending on winding selection. No-load speeds range from 3,000 to 12,000 RPM, allowing designers to optimize for either high-speed or high-torque applications. Despite its short 25mm length, the motor delivers useful torque output suitable for light-duty actuation tasks. The brushless design provides high efficiency (up to 82%), reducing heat generation and improving energy economy compared to brushed alternatives.
Unlike traditional metal brush DC motors that require periodic brush replacement and suffer from electrical arcing, the brushless design eliminates mechanical commutation entirely. Typical operational life reaches 15,000+ hours—three times longer than equivalent brushed motors. The absence of brushes also eliminates electrical arcing, reducing EMI and making the motor suitable for sensitive medical and electronic environments. Low cogging torque design ensures smooth rotation even at very low speeds, critical for precision positioning applications.
Three integrated hall effect sensors provide commutation feedback for electronic speed controllers (ESC) and enable precise speed control, direction changes, and smooth starting from zero speed. The hall sensors allow the motor to start reliably under load and maintain stable operation across a wide speed range. For closed-loop speed or position control, an optional magnetic encoder (up to 512 PPR) can be added to the motor rear shaft.
The ultra-compact 25mm body length provides limited surface area for heat dissipation, but the motor’s high efficiency (up to 82%) minimizes heat generation. The motor is designed for intermittent duty cycles, making it ideal for applications such as camera gimbals, surgical staplers, and small valve actuators. Ball bearings on both ends ensure low friction and long service life. Dynamic balancing of the rotor assembly minimizes vibration, important for camera and precision positioning applications. The housing can be specified with IP54 protection for dusty or humid environments.
OEM customers can specify winding voltage and speed/torque characteristics, shaft diameter (3mm, 4mm, or 5mm), shaft length, and end configurations including flat or D-cut. Gearbox attachments (planetary or spur) with reduction ratios from 3:1 to 50:1 are available for torque multiplication. Custom lead wire length and connector terminations (Molex, JST, or custom) are supported. Encoder integration is available for volume orders.
Each M25-25-BLDC motor undergoes 100% final inspection including no-load speed, no-load current, hall sensor functionality, insulation resistance, dielectric strength, and vibration testing. Production follows ISO 9001:2015 quality management processes. RoHS and REACH compliance documentation is available. Sample motors with matched electronic speed controllers are available for engineering evaluation.
