The M28-45-MB series is a 28mm diameter brushed DC motor with a compact 45mm body length, featuring a coreless (ironless rotor) design. This motor platform is engineered to deliver high torque density and fast dynamic response in a space-efficient package, making it ideal for medical devices, industrial automation, robotics, and precision instruments where smooth, reliable motion control is essential-1-2.
The M28-45-MB delivers continuous torque from 19 to 41 mNm depending on winding selection, with stall torque up to 50 mNm. No-load speeds range from 5,000 to 8,000 RPM, providing flexibility for applications requiring either higher speed or higher torque. The coreless rotor design provides exceptionally linear voltage-speed-torque characteristics, simplifying control system design and enabling precise modeling of motor performance under varying load conditions-1.
The graphite/copper brush commutation system offers long brush life and reliable electrical contact under normal operating conditions. The absence of an iron core eliminates cogging torque, allowing the rotor to stop in any position without preferential alignment—a valuable characteristic for servo and precision positioning applications. The ironless construction also minimizes rotor inertia, enabling rapid acceleration and deceleration that conventional iron-core motors cannot match-17.
The motor features a compact design weighing approximately 125-200 grams depending on configuration. Sleeve bearings are standard for quiet operation, with ball bearing options available for applications requiring higher radial loads and extended service life. The motor is available in 12V, 15V, 24V, and 28V windings, accommodating a range of power supply requirements-2-7.
OEM customers can specify winding voltage and speed/torque characteristics, shaft diameter (3mm standard), shaft length, and end configurations including flat or knurling-2. Gearbox attachments (planetary) with reduction ratios from 5:1 to 1,000:1 are available for torque multiplication. Custom lead wire length and connector terminations are supported for volume orders.
