The M45-50-BLDC-G series is a 45mm diameter brushless DC motor with a compact 50mm body length, integrated with a high-torque planetary gearbox. This powerful yet compact gear motor platform is designed for applications requiring substantial torque output without transitioning to larger, heavier 56mm or 63mm frames. The combination of 45mm diameter and 50mm length provides an excellent power-to-size ratio for electric mobility, industrial automation, and medical equipment applications.

The M45-50 delivers motor power from 50 to 200 Watts depending on winding selection, with no-load speeds ranging from 2,000 to 8,000 RPM. When paired with the integrated planetary gearbox, output torque reaches up to 8 Nm (15 Nm with reinforced gearbox option), sufficient for direct wheel drive of lightweight electric vehicles and heavy-duty industrial actuators. The brushless design provides high efficiency (up to 88%), significantly extending battery life in mobile applications.

The precision planetary gearbox features hardened metal gears for durability and low maintenance. Available in 1, 2, or 3 stages, gear ratios range from 3:1 to 150:1, allowing designers to optimize for either output speed or output torque. Backlash is ≤1.5° standard, with a precision version (≤0.5°) available for positioning applications. The gearbox output shaft is supported by heavy-duty ball bearings for high radial and axial load capacity—critical for wheel drive and conveyor applications.

Unlike traditional metal brush DC motors that require periodic brush replacement, the brushless design eliminates mechanical commutation entirely. Typical operational life reaches 15,000+ hours—three to five times longer than equivalent brushed motors. The absence of brushes also eliminates electrical arcing, reducing EMI and making the motor suitable for sensitive medical and electronic environments. Motor efficiency reaches 88%, reducing heat generation and improving battery economy.

Three integrated hall effect sensors provide commutation feedback for electronic speed controllers (ESC) and enable precise speed control, direction changes, and smooth starting from zero speed. For closed-loop speed or position control, an optional magnetic or optical encoder (up to 2,048 PPR) can be added to the motor rear shaft. An optional electromagnetic holding brake (fail-safe, 12V/24V) is available for applications requiring position holding when power is removed.

The 50mm body length provides balanced thermal characteristics—short enough for compact integration yet long enough for adequate heat dissipation. Ball bearings on both ends of the motor and on the gearbox output shaft ensure low friction and long service life even under continuous duty. The housing can be specified with IP54 protection (dust-protected and water-resistant) or IP65 (wash-down capable) for outdoor or wet environments. Insulation is Class F (155°C) as standard.

OEM customers can specify gear ratio, output shaft diameter (10mm, 12mm, 14mm, or 15mm), output shaft length, and end configurations including flat, keyway, D-cut, or spline. Custom lead wire length and connector terminations (Molex, JST, AMP, Deutsch, or custom) are supported. Encoder integration, electromagnetic brake options, special winding voltages, and IP65 sealing are available for volume orders.

Each M45-50-BLDC-G motor undergoes 100% final inspection including no-load speed, no-load current, hall sensor functionality, insulation resistance, dielectric strength, vibration testing, and gearbox backlash measurement. Production follows ISO 9001:2015 quality management processes. RoHS and REACH compliance documentation is available. Sample motors with matched electronic speed controllers are available for engineering evaluation.
