We are excited to announce our participation in SPS – Smart Production Solutions 2026, one of the world’s leading exhibitions for smart and digital automation, taking place from November 24 to 26 at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center in Germany. At this event, we will unveil our new generation of coreless motors featuring fully integrated drive electronics, a significant advancement that simplifies system integration and enhances performance for automation applications.
Our booth (Hall 3, Stand 218) will showcase an expanded product portfolio that bridges the gap between traditional miniature motors and intelligent motion control solutions. The centerpiece of our exhibit is the new SmartDrive Coreless Motor Series, which embeds a complete servo controller and communication interface directly within the motor housing – eliminating the need for external drivers and reducing system complexity.
SmartDrive Series – Key Innovations:
Integrated Electronics:
The SmartDrive series integrates a high-performance microcontroller, six-step commutation logic, and fully configurable PID control loops into a compact PCB mounted directly on the motor end cap. The integrated design accepts standard industrial communication protocols including CANopen, Modbus RTU, and IO-Link, allowing direct connection to PLCs and industrial networks without intermediate interface modules.
Advanced Sensorless Control:
For brushed models, the SmartDrive employs advanced back-EMF sensing algorithms that eliminate the need for external Hall sensors, reducing cost and simplifying wiring. For brushless models, the controller uses a sophisticated sensorless field-oriented control (FOC) algorithm that delivers smooth torque output across the entire speed range, with position accuracy reaching ±0.1° in the latest firmware version.
Compact Integration:
The electronics package adds only 8mm to the overall motor length while providing comprehensive protection features including over-current protection, over-temperature shutdown, and reverse polarity protection. This compact integration is particularly valuable for robotics applications where every millimeter of space matters.
Live Demonstrations at the Booth:
Visitors to our booth will witness three live demonstration stations:
- Station 1 – Collaborative Robot Finger: A fully functional three-finger gripper demonstration showcases four SmartDrive motors working in coordinated motion. Each finger can independently apply precisely controlled gripping force up to 15N while providing real-time force feedback to the controller. This demonstration highlights the motor’s low-speed torque control capability and fast response time.
- Station 2 – High-Speed Pick-and-Place: A miniature gantry system demonstrates the motor’s dynamic performance at speeds up to 80,000 rpm with acceleration rates exceeding 100,000 rad/s². An integrated vision system tracks the motor’s response time, visually demonstrating the near-instantaneous speed changes enabled by the low rotor inertia of the coreless design.
- Station 3 – IO-Link Configuration: Attendees can interact with a live IO-Link master to configure motor parameters in real time – adjusting speed profiles, current limits, and acceleration curves through a simple drag-and-drop interface. This station emphasizes the system integrator-friendly nature of the SmartDrive series, dramatically reducing setup time compared to traditional analog-controlled motors.
Additional Products on Display:
Beyond the SmartDrive series, our booth will feature:
- Ultra-Compact Medical Series: Motors with diameters as small as 4mm, specifically designed for micro-surgical applications and minimally invasive surgical tools. These motors feature specialized sterilization-compatible materials and 10,000-hour reliability validation.
- Heavy-Duty Industrial Series: New 30mm to 42mm diameter motors offering up to 80mN·m of continuous torque, designed for valve actuators and industrial automation equipment requiring long service life in demanding environments.
- Custom Engineering Showcase: A display of more than 50 custom-developed motor solutions from the past year, demonstrating our engineering capabilities across industries including aerospace, defense, laboratory automation, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Technical Seminar:
Additionally, our Senior Application Engineer, Dr. Robert Hoffmann (based at our European technical center), will present a seminar titled “Integrated Drive Solutions for Miniature Motion Control” on November 25 at 14:00 in the Forum Area of Hall 5. The presentation will cover best practices for selecting coreless motors, common integration pitfalls, and real-world case studies from medical device and robotics applications. Copies of the presentation will be available at our booth for attendees unable to attend the session.
SPS Exhibition Facts:
SPS is consistently ranked among the top three European automation exhibitions, drawing over 50,000 professional visitors from more than 80 countries. As of the 2026 edition, participating exhibitors number over 1,200, representing virtually every major manufacturer in the factory automation sector. The event provides an unparalleled opportunity to benchmark our technology against global competitors and connect with engineers working on the most advanced automation projects currently under development.
“We see SPS as the ideal platform to introduce the SmartDrive series to the European market,” said Mr. Wang Jian, our Vice President of International Sales. “European engineers are particularly demanding when it comes to quality and integration simplicity – precisely the criteria we prioritized in this design. We are eager to receive feedback from attendees and to demonstrate that we can deliver solutions that compete with the very best European manufacturers in terms of performance, quality, and reliability.”
